This holiday season, the South Simcoe Art Council (SSAC) will be offering several Meet the Maker events at FortyOne in Alliston, Ontario. Several of these events will include a make ‘n take project with one of our local artists. This is a chance to work one-on-one or in a small group with an artisan to expand your creativity. Each make ‘n take will take no more than 15 mins to complete and will cost only $5 to participate. Proceeds will be used to support the South Simcoe Art Council and local artists.
On December 10, Quirky Calico Designs (specifically Daina) will be teaching you how to make your own version of these attractive wire pendants/ornaments.
Working with wire can seem daunting as it involves many intricate techniques and specialized tools. A great place to start is with finger curls. With little more than your fingers, some wire and a few beads, you can create a beautiful pendant or ornament using finger curls.
In this make 'n take, you will use copper wire and stone beads, but once you learn the technique you can experiment with all kinds of wire and beads.
No previous wire work experience is required.
Check out the SSAC website to find out more information about SSAC and the other Meet the Maker events we are offering at FortyOne in Alliston, Ontario this holiday season.
Come join me on December 10 between 2pm and 5pm to make your own pendant/ornament using finger curls.
