Have Wire…. Will Travel

To recover from the stress of our everyday life, we all need to take a vacation once in a while. For me, that was a full week of camping with my husband in Killbear Park last week.

The weather was gorgeous! Not too hot, beautiful blue skies and very little rain!

We hiked all over the campground and dipped our feet in the cool Georgian Bay water.

But I have a confession to make… I can’t relax if I’m not being at least a little productive.

Although the intricate wire weaving I do does take a lot of focus, I have found doing viking knit to be quite meditative.

Thankfully, these copper snakes are the only snakes we encountered on this camping trip!

In addition to the 26 gauge copper wire I use for all of my viking knit, my tool kit includes a wooden dowel, a homemade drawplate, flush cutters, chain nose pliers, a secure container for wire ends and some scrap metal to start my snakes.

How do you incorporate creativity in your vacations?

Watch how meditative my viking knitting is for yourself. Maybe you’ll give it a try on your next trip!
